HTC 10 Evo with water resistance and adaptive earbuds

Sprint and HTC released the HTC Bolt about 10 days ago, and now we have the same device for the rest of the world launching as the HTC 10 Evo with the same water resistance, adaptive earbuds, and Android Nougat operating system.

The display is larger, it has an IP57 dust and water resistant rating, and comes with the latest version of Android that has not yet been released for the HTC 10.The HTC 10 Evo is not a successor to the HTC 10, since the processor, RAM, and camera are not as advanced as what you can find in the HTC 10.

SPECIFICATIONS OF THE HTC 10 EVO INCLUDE:
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 2.0 GHz octa-core
Display: 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution Super LCD 3
Operating system: Android 7.0 Nougat
RAM: 3GB
Storage: 32 GB internal with microSD card storage for up to 2TB
Cameras: 16 megapixel f/2.0 camera with OIS and 8 megapixel front-facing camera
Extras: IP57 dust and water resistance, HTC BoomSound Adaptive Audio
LTE bands: 1,3,5,7,8,20, and 28
Battery: 3,200 mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0 fast charging
Dimensions: 153.6 x 77.3 x 8.09 mm and 174 grams

The focus of the Evo, as demonstrated in marketing materials, is the adaptive audio technology and water resistance. The HTC 10 Evo does not have a headphone jack, but provides audio through the USB Type-C port and includes the HTC earbuds that automatically map your ear and optimize audio for your particular ear canal. The HTC 10 Evo does not have BoomSound in the speakers, but provides a BoomSound experience through the headphones.

The device  incorporates Gorilla Glass 5 on the 5.5-inch display so should be able to withstand an accidental drop or two.The IP57 dust and water resistant rating is great to see and one feature I expect now on all of the latest higher-end smartphones.

The HTC 10 Evo will be available in gunmetal, glacier silver, or pearl gold this month. It will not be available in the US and this particular model does not support US LTE bands. Pricing was not provided, but the US HTC Sprint Bolt is priced at $599.
